Welcome to our family!

JMH Jewellery is quite the family affair! The company was established in 1973 by Betty & Joe Harbourne and it has been an exciting journey since then! Joe and Betty’s son and daughter, Joseph and Eve, came on board full time in 2001 and 2003 respectively, having both worked part-time in the business during their school and college years.   Their other son, Aaron, works with them on a part-time basis, sharing his passion for the family business with his passion for music and drumming.  It is maybe not surprising then, that you get a keen sense of pride in the family business when you speak to them.

The primary focus of JMH in the early years was the manufacture of diamond rings for the leading retail jewellery shops throughout Ireland. The company very quickly established a firm reputation as providers of top quality products, stylish designs, good value and good service.  They built on this and continue to supply Ireland’s top jewellery retail stores with quality product. 

In the early 80’s the range of products expanded to include silver & gold jewellery collections. JMH were among the first jewellery makers to incorporate Celtic designs into fashionable jewellery. This coincided with Joe’s first sales trip to the USA in 1983.  The range quickly expanded to include Celtic Rings, Claddagh Rings, Celtic Pendants, Irish Heritage inspired pieces like harps and shamrocks, personalised jewellery and so much more.

Based in Dublin City Centre for the first 25 years JMH moved to their current premises in Ballymount in 1998.  The move marked the beginning of an exciting period of change and development within the company, that continues today.  “Our new facility gave us the space to be able to control all aspects of the manufacturing process in-house” says Joe Harbourne.  “We were able to expand and develop our in-house casting & stamping which in turn gave us the freedom and ability to respond to the ever-changing market trends and demands”.
