Product Description

A stunning ladies Sterling Silver and 14ct Gold Claddagh Ring with a Celtic Weave.  The celtic knotwork is symbolic of everlasting life and everlasting love.  This is a unique stayle of claddagh, the 14ct gold claddagh symbol is cradled withing a sterling silver setting.  Simply stunning.

Legend has it that a hardworking  young man from the village of Claddagh in Galway, by the name of Richard Joyce, was kidnapped while fishing at sea by some Mediterranean pirates.  He was sold into slavery to a Moorish goldsmith in North Africa.  During his many years working with his Moorish Master he learned the craft of goldsmithing and became an accomplished artisan.  He designed the Claddagh ring for the sweetheart he had left behind in Ireland, and who he longed to return to. He designed the crown as a symbol of his loyalty to her, the heart as a symbol of his love for her, and the hands holding the heart as a symbol of his everlasting friendship for her. When he was eventually freed and was able to return to Ireland he found his sweetheart had waited for him all the years of his absence.  They were soon married and never separated again!
